hubergroup expands UV printing footprint across Europe

hubergroup has reported continued growth in the European UV printing market, supported by customer partnerships, technical support and demand for consistent print performance across packaging applications.

The company said recent developments in France and Italy highlight how close collaboration with printers and converters is helping to expand adoption of its UV ink portfolio, particularly within packaging production.

hubergroup’s approach centres on long-term customer relationships, with regular on-site support and technical consultation forming a key part of its strategy. Thierry Seemann, Sales Director Sheetfed UV at hubergroup France, said: “In UV printing, reliability and personal contact make all the difference. Our customers value that we don’t just sell ink – we support them on-site, solve challenges together, and continuously refine performance.”

In France, customer uptake has been supported by demand for stable product quality and reliable supply, particularly among packaging converters using UV offset processes.

In Italy, the company has secured new business following extended print trials with its NewV ink series. Local printers cited consistent curing performance, stable ink-water balance and direct technical support as key factors in adopting the system. Simone Ginelli, Country Sales Manager at hubergroup Italia, said the progress reflects a long-term approach to market development.

“It underlines that trust doesn’t develop overnight – it comes from consistent results, persistence, and strong cooperation,” he said.

hubergroup’s UV portfolio, including the NewV set and NewV pack ranges, is designed for sheetfed offset printing applications commonly used in packaging, including metal decoration, labels and high-end consumer packaging formats.

For the metal packaging sector, UV printing technologies are particularly relevant for decorated aluminium and steel packaging such as beverage cans, aerosol cans and closures, where print durability, curing speed and visual quality are critical.

The company said its continued investment in technical service and product development is aimed at supporting printers working across a range of substrates, including metal, as demand grows for high-performance and sustainable print solutions.

hubergroup, which employs more than 3,000 people across nearly 30 countries, reported annual sales of around €743 million in 2024.
