Häagen-Dazs steel container debuts in Ontario

Häagen-Dazs

Häagen-Dazs fans in Ontario, Canada will be able to enjoy their favourite flavours in reusable metal packaging.

Nestle Canada have partnered with the Loop Sustainable Home Delivery Service and Loblaw Companies Limited for the pilot.

Loop is an innovative and sustainable grocery and household goods delivery service using only reusable packaging and is launching to 5,000 residents across Ontario, following a successful expansion in the US and Europe.

Ice cream lovers will enjoy the same quality and indulgence they know and love; now in zero-waste packaging.

The sustainable packaging solution has new reusable double-walled steel, which keeps the ice cream at an optimal temperature from the time it’s filled until the first scoop.

The canister design ensures that when opened, the ice cream melts more quickly at the top than at the bottom of the container, ensuring that every scoop is perfect.

President of Ice Cream at Nestlé Canada, Jayne Payette, said: “At Nestlé Canada, we are committed to protecting our natural environment and we have set an ambitious target to ensure that 100% of our packaging is recyclable or reusable by 2025.

“Our investment and founding partnership with Loop are just a couple of examples of how we are exploring innovative solutions and working with other leaders in the sustainability space.

“We are proud to partner with Loop to bring a new way to shop – waste-free – with the Canadian debut of the Häagen-Dazs reusable container.”
