Factory expansion at CarnaudMetalbox

CarnaudMetalbox expansion

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering has announced the addition of a new 150,000 ft2 facility in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.

This new addition increases the company’s facilities to over 298,000 ft2, enabling expansion of their production capacity even further to keep up with increased demand. The new unit will provide much needed space in support of the company’s continuing machinery sales growth and will further cement CMbE’s future ability to provide can makers with a full can making solution.

“Unit 12” as the new unit will be referred to is ideally suited to the assembly, testing and despatch of the company’s current and future product portfolio.

Over the course of the last month a comprehensive re-fit program commenced at Unit 12 that will see significant investment in infrastructure, welfare and capital equipment.

The addition of this facility will allow the business to expand its in-house manufacturing capabilities at its current Dockfield Road & Hirstwood Works Shipley sites.

Marc Hoche – vice president and general manager of CMbE said:

“This is a truly exciting opportunity and marks a milestone in the company’s history. This significant expansion in our capacity will allow us to better serve the industry moving forward.”
