Sencon have been busy over the last year despite all the challenges of the pandemic, pushing ahead with new product developments and other projects, including launching a brand new web site in four languages.

Sencon’s ethos is generally to develop and build as much possible themselves rather than to use off-the-shelf solutions as this allows things to be tailored more closely to the demands of can making and the needs of their customers.

The same approach has been taken with their web site which was fully designed and coded in-house, which they say makes maintenance and ongoing development easier and more secure. From a user point of view, the smart new mobile and wide-screen friendly design is very clean and contemporary yet doesn’t look and feel like countless other websites.

“The new style is also backed up by substance,” explains Sencon marketing manager, Andrew Hinks. “Sencon’s technical document library is now fully integrated with their web site. Customers with a login account can access support documents, videos, software etc, for any product directly from a ‘RESOURCES’ tab on the relevant page.

“Product Data Sheets and resources for some products (Can Line Sensors, Short Can Sensors, Oven Logger, plus the company’s SI9100 Semi-automatic Enamel Rater and SI9600 Coatings Thickness Gauge) are freely available for download. Sales enquiry and support contact forms are now supplemented by a live chat facility, which is visible when it staff members are available.

“And last but not least, a new online video training programme for Sencon’s automatic gauges is available. Customers can request sign-up form a link on the SUPPORT page.

“All in all, Sencon’s new site is a very comprehensive and useful online portal for can makers.”
