Sainsbury’s offer extra rewards for buying tinned fruit and veg

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury’s will offer customers extra Nectar points if they buy fruit and veg in store, including tinned varieties.

The Nectar App has brought back the ‘Great Big Fruit & Veg’ challenge, which offers shoppers the chance to collect additional points.

It does not just have to be fresh produce, though, as tinned fruit and veg count towards the challenge, as well as dried fruit.

All shoppers have to do is download the Nectar app, link their Nectar card, and opt into the challenge.

If they shop for enough fruit and veg, then they’ll receive Nectar points every time they buy a portion of fruit or veg, which equates to just 80g a portion.

The challenge lasts until June 28, and the points can be used to redeem money-off vouchers at Sainsbury’s and at other businesses.

Excluded items are potatoes, yams, plantain, cassava, baked beans, coconut, garlic, chillies, ginger, fresh and dried herbs, fruit juice and any product containing added salts or sugar, or additional ingredients, as these products do not contribute towards your recommended five portions of fruit and veg per day.
