As one of the longest running and most prestigious annual metal decorating competitions, the Excellence in Quality Contest recognises the skillful achievements of the metal decorating and packaging industry.

Entries from around the globe are judged in nine categories with the best entry given the Grand Award. Judges evaluate the quality of printing, the degree of difficulty, the appearance of coating finishes, registration, and the technical expertise required for each piece.

Entries must have been decorated between June, 2021 and July, 2022. Two finished samples of the decorated work must be submitted to the IMDPA by the deadline of 19 August 2022.

Decorated pieces are judged in 9 categories and each design can only be entered in one category. The Technical Achievement Award will be presented for innovation in decorating and manufacturing. All entries will be considered for this award.

All submissions will be judged by an impartial committee made up of graphic arts professionals and will evaluate the quality of printing, the degree of difficulty, the appearance of coating finishes, registration, and the technical expertise required for each piece.

Judging will take place at the annual International Metal Decorators Association Annual Conference which will be held 5-6 October 2022 at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa.

The judges will follow a predetermined guideline of quality criteria to determine the outcome of the contest. Once the judging has been completed, the judges will announce the winners of each category at the Awards Luncheon. Winning entries will be displayed at the Seminar for all to see.
