Natural Light gets retro-inspired rebrand

Beer brand Natural Light is getting a retro-inspired rebrand to its cans.

The new cans will start to be rolled out in February and will revert back to its 1979 design, which includes the logo and colour scheme.

“There’s been a lot of conversation about how ‘what is old is now what is cool,’ so we wanted to look back into our archives, so the can itself is harkening back to the design of the late 1970s,” said Krystyn Stowe, head of marketing for Natural Light told CNN.

Stowe said the retro design was trialled in North Carolina and South Carolina a few years ago and was met with great success.

Now this throwback will be permanently implemented for the brand.

Natural Light was first implemented in the 1970s by Anheuser-Busch to compete with Miller Lite, before they later launched Michelob Light and Bud Light.

It was initially marketed as Anheuser-Busch Natural Light, before eventually just being called Natural Light.
