M&S reveals it sells 60 canned cocktails a minute

M&S has revealed it sells 14.6million canned cocktails a year – the equivalent to 60 cans a minute.

It comes as the high street chain has launched four new cocktails in a can, with all twists on classic recipes.

The new additions to the Marksologist cocktail range are Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, Smoked Pineapple Daiquiri, Pink Grapefruit Paloma and Rosé Negroni Spritz. They are priced at £3.50 each.

Jenny Rea, Lead Product Developer for cocktails at M&S, said: “We know our M&S tinnies have quite the cult following up and down the country, whether you’re a politician on the train or even a hot priest! After all, we sell 60 cocktail cans every minute which adds up to 14.6million sold each year – that’s enough tinnies to stretch from London to Greece if you put them end-to-end.

“These four new flavours in the Marksologist range are absolutely ideal for enjoying in the spring sunshine that’s just around the corner, but they’re also great for those wanting to enjoy perfectly mixed cocktail at home without the hassle of having to make it themselves. With top-quality ingredients that are expertly blended so you can enjoy from the very first sip, we’ve done all the hard work for you. Cheers to that!”
