Cans for Kids founder passes away
Gary Turbville, the Founder and CEO of Cans for Kids, has passed away at the age of 73.
Gary was deeply committed to improving the community, and his dedication led him to establish Cans for Kids.
Nearly three decades ago, he started collecting soda cans, exchanging them for funds that he used to support local children and families in need.
Following his passing, the Cans for Kids organisation shared a heartfelt message.
Charlotte Scott, a board member, said: “We are heartbroken by the sudden loss of our beloved Gary Turbville, Founder of Cans for Kids.
“He passed away this afternoon at Baptist/Anderson Medical Center. Please keep his wife Martha and family in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral arrangements are still pending.”
