Bernard Slack has joined the MPMA to provide technical expertise and leadership in legislative support for its members.  

With over thirty years’ experience in packaging coatings, a degree in chemistry, and an MSc in Polymer Science from Lancaster University, Bernard has held various technical roles in industry. Most recently with AkzoNobel where he led a team of R&D chemists focused on new product development and customer support.

Commenting on his new role, Bernard said: “I am excited to join at such a pivotal time for the industry. With Extended Producer Responsibility and Deposit Return Schemes imminent, it is essential that MPMA members are well-prepared to navigate these significant changes. 

“I look forward to offering the technical guidance and regulatory support they need to stay compliant, competitive, and ready to succeed in an ever-evolving regulatory environment.”
