Tosyalı Toyo plans to double tinplate output

Tosyalı Toyo, a joint venture between Tosyalı Holding and Toyo Kohan, has initiated trial production with plans to double its tinplate output from 325,000 tons to 650,000 tons.

The company announced an investment of approximately $200 million to boost production capacity, including the addition of new tin-free steel products, by year-end.

This expansion aims to increase the availability of advanced, high-quality steel for durable and safe packaging solutions.

Tosyalı Toyo, with Tosyalı Holding owning 51% and Toyo Kohan holding 49%, has an annual rolling capacity of 1.2 million tons.

The company primarily produces tinplate, galvanised, pre-painted, cold-rolled, and pickled hot-rolled steel products. It is currently the only Turkish producer capable of manufacturing tinplate with a thickness of 0.12 mm and a width of 1,300 mm, as well as 0.20 mm thickness in other cold-rolled steel products.
