Anheuser-Busch delivers 50,000 cans of emergency drinking water
At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch delivered one truckload – more than 50,000 cans – of emergency drinking water to support Kentucky residents recovering after extreme flooding impacted communities across the Louisville area.
The donation of emergency drinking water was delivered to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partner, Standard Sales Company, based in Louisville, Kentucky, which is working alongside the American Red Cross to distribute the resources to community members and organisations in need.
“The American Red Cross is thankful for the continued support of Anheuser-Busch and Standard Sales Company in providing emergency drinking water to communities in need,” said Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross.
“Their generosity and quick response following the devastating floods and dam failure in Kentucky helps ensure that those affected have access to safe, clean water during this critical time.”
The 50,000+ cans of water were sourced from Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Cartersville, Georgia, which alongside the Fort Collins, Colorado brewery, periodically pauses beer production to can emergency drinking water and help communities in times of disaster.
Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 97 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.
