Aldi unveils Snap Pack packaging for own label beer cans
Aldi, the UK’s fourth-largest grocery retailer, plans to introduce ‘Snap Pack’ packaging across its own-label beer range.
This new packaging method is expected to save around 412 tonnes of material each year by using adhesive to hold cans together instead of the traditional cardboard sleeves.
The rollout will cover four-can packs of Aldi’s Galahad, Sainte Etienne, and Brasserie beers.
This initiative is part of Aldi’s broader commitment to sustainability. Earlier this year, for instance, Aldi partnered with eco-conscious wine brand The Hidden Sea to launch an own-label Chardonnay. According to the retailer, each bottle sold results in the removal of the equivalent of ten plastic bottles from the ocean.
Aldi UK national sustainability director Luke Emery said: “We know our customers care about the environment, and so do we. That’s why we’re constantly challenging ourselves to find smarter, more sustainable ways to package our products.

“By switching to Snap Pack packaging, we’re taking meaningful action to prevent waste – without compromising on quality or convenience. It’s a small change that makes a big impact.”
