Hunter Luxury scoops canmaking award
Hunter Luxury’s won Gold in the Fancy Cans category at the Canmaker Awards for its work on the Hendrick’s Whimsical Watering Can project.
The Whimsical Watering Can, developed in collaboration with brand owner William Grant & Sons and based on a concept by Boundless Brand Design, is a luxury travel retail gift set that doubles as a fully functional metal watering can.
The pack was a feat of metal packaging excellence, combining quirky aesthetics with impressive technical engineering to wow the judging panel.
The win marks the project’s third major award win after it took home prizes at the UK Packaging Awards, London Packaging Week Innovation Awards, plus Highly Commended certificates at both events.
It is also the second time Hunter Luxury has taken Gold at the Canmaker Awards after its special edition can for Monkey Shoulder whisky – which featured a unique cocktail strainer lid – won in the same category in 2023.
This remarkable string of successes cements Hunter Luxury’s place as a true leader in luxury metal packaging production.
Paul Hamilton, Head of Sales and Marketing at Hunter Luxury, was elated at the hat-trick of award wins, said: “Our metal packaging capabilities are something we are very proud of, so it’s especially rewarding to see them recognised by the metal packaging experts at The Canmaker.
“Our thanks go to our partners at William Grant & Sons and Boundless Brand Design for trusting our team with the delivery of their unique creative vision.
“It’s always a pleasure to see any project take shape, but to be able to give such an imaginative idea a physical form was a real privilege for our team. At Hunter Luxury, we don’t put boundaries on your creativity – we make it a reality, translating ideas into wow moments for consumers.”
The Whimsical Watering Can is made from galvanised and stainless steel elements to ensure a watertight seal and compliance with food safety standards. Its multi-functionality as a watering can, a cocktail decanter, or a display piece to house flowers or bartending tools has proven to be a hit with consumers and industry experts alike, highlighting the creative potential of metal packaging.
