Pioneering oat drink brand Oatly has introduced a new duo of ready-to-drink iced coffees in cans designed for easy, on-the-move consumption.

The range includes two options: Barista Iced Flat White and Barista Iced Caramel Macchiato.

The Caramel Macchiato blends Arabica coffee with Oatly’s Barista-grade oat drink and a hint of caramel, creating a rich and slightly indulgent profile. 

For those who prefer a stronger coffee presence, the Iced Flat White offers a more robust flavour that mirrors the classic café favourite.

Both drinks are formulated to be shelf-stable before opening, giving shoppers the convenience of ambient storage. For maximum flavour, Oatly recommends serving them chilled or poured over ice. More than 400 Tesco stores are now stocking the new cans in their dedicated iced-coffee sections.

We are seeing a real shift in how shoppers consume coffee, with Gen Z in particular driving the surge in cold formats – a trend that continues to remain a cultural movement as we head into the New Year. 

“Taste remains central to all Oatly innovation, and alongside the rising demand for convenience, we are excited to see the response to these new RTDs as they roll out in Tesco.”

Like the rest of Oatly’s portfolio, the beverages are entirely plant-based and free from dairy and soy. They are fortified with calcium, riboflavin, and vitamins B12 and D, while also being low in salt and saturated fat. The recipes avoid added sugars, artificial flavours, colours, stabilisers, emulsifiers, or sweeteners, and offer a significantly lower climate impact compared to traditional dairy-based drinks.

Earlier in the year, Oatly became the first food brand to receive the Climate Solutions Company designation from the Exponential Roadmap Initiative (ERI), highlighting its contributions to reducing environmental footprint by encouraging a shift away from dairy.

The Barista Iced Caramel Macchiato and Iced Flat White are available now at Tesco, priced at £2 per 235ml can. Clubcard customers can pick them up for £1.25 between 6 November and 18 December.
