The LINDAL Group, a global supplier of aerosol dispensing solutions, has reported significant progress in sustainability governance, product innovation and ESG performance across 2023 and 2024, following the publication of its sustainability report.

The Hamburg-based company said the past two years marked a step change in the way sustainability is embedded across its global operations, with measurable advances against its Sustainability Roadmap 2025 and a strengthened reporting framework aligned with the consolidated GRI Standards 2024.

According to LINDAL, the updated report and a newly launched sustainability webpage are intended to improve transparency for customers, brand owners and other stakeholders across the packaging value chain.

Among the key developments highlighted is a strong improvement in the Group’s EcoVadis sustainability rating. LINDAL increased its score from 38/100 to 56/100 in 2023, before rising again to 60/100 in 2024, placing the company in the 62nd percentile of rated organisations. The improved performance reflects strengthened practices across environmental management, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

The company also reported continued progress in sustainable product development, with several initiatives relevant to aerosol and metal packaging markets. These include the expansion of fully plastic, recyclable aerosol valves and actuators incorporating post-consumer recycled material, as well as the development of valve technologies compatible with compressed air formulations. LINDAL said ongoing eco-design initiatives, lightweighting programmes and digital optimisation tools have enabled further reductions in virgin plastic and metal usage, supporting improved recyclability while maintaining product performance.

On the operational side, LINDAL recorded a significant improvement in its Total Recordable Incident Rate during 2024, supported by Safety Day initiatives, global safety induction programmes and enhanced incident reporting. Around 80 per cent of its manufacturing sites are now certified to ISO 45001.

Environmental performance remains a key focus, with Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions reduced by 49 per cent since 2020. During 2024, the Group expanded environmental data coverage, reinforced key performance indicators and continued efforts to improve visibility into Scope 3 emissions. Two sites are currently certified to ISO 14001, with further certifications planned.

LINDAL has also reinforced its governance framework through significant upgrades to cybersecurity, including multi-factor authentication, enhanced identity and access management, 24/7 external security monitoring, cyberattack simulations and global employee training.
