Alupro makes shortlist for 2026 edie Awards

Alupro has been announced as a finalist in the Water, Waste & Resource Efficiency category at this year’s edie Awards.

Securing a place on the shortlist recognises the organisation’s efforts in leading the transition towards a more circular packaging economy through its advocacy work and behavioural change initiatives.

The judges were particularly impressed with Alupro’s educational campaigns, which have helped to reach 900,000 households, 39,000 pupils and 750,000 festival goers in the past 12 months alone.

Organised by Faversham House, the edie Awards celebrate sustainability leaders from across the UK. The winners of all 23 categories will be announced at a ceremony in central London on 12 March.

Tom Giddings, executive director at Alupro, commented: “Being shortlisted in the edie Awards is testament to the innovative, creative, disruptive approach we take in educating the general public about waste management and resource efficiency.

“Our successful campaigns are proving instrumental in driving a continued national uplift in aluminium packaging recycling volumes across the UK, as well as increasing householder engagement and encouraging best practice behaviour.

“We’re genuinely honoured to have made the final and we’re very much looking forward to joining other shortlisted companies at the awards ceremony in March.”

Over the coming years, Alupro is planning to further ramp up its efforts in identifying common barriers to improve recycling rates for ‘hard to recycle’ items and deploying targeted campaigns to tackle them head-on.

This comes as part of a wider goal of realising circularity for aluminium packaging in the UK.
