CANPACK issues update on Russian operations
CANPACK Group, Inc. says that it was informed on January 13, 2026, that its operations in Russia had been placed under temporary external administration by Presidential Decree.
Since that time, the long-time general manager of those operations has been removed and a new general manager appointed by the external administrators, and all communications with our Russian operations have been cut off.
CPG says it has now also learned through the Russian media that monies belonging to its Russian operations have been “donated” by the external administrators to a Russian charitable foundation that allegedly supports Russian government operations.
CANPACK says all of these actions have been taken without its consent, authorisation, approval, and without any prior notification.
The company says that for the last three decades its Russian operations have consistently provided high-quality packaging products for the local market and good jobs for its 500+ Russian employees.
Throughout this period, CPG says it has adhered to all applicable laws, rules and regulations; it has also remained committed to its Russian employees and customers, and to its operations in Russia.
CPG calls for the Russian government to ensure the safety of its employees and the preservation and return of its assets.
CPG is continuing to assess the legal, operational and financial consequences of this action, and intends to take all appropriate measures in order to protect its rights. CPG will publish material updates as they become available.
