Carlsberg Britvic to launch poppi in the UK
Carlsberg Britvic is set to launch US soda brand poppi in the UK on 5 March, marking the drink’s first global expansion following its acquisition by PepsiCo.
Poppi, which has built a strong following in the US through social media and creator partnerships, will be available in 330ml cans sold individually and in four-packs. The initial UK rollout will begin in Tesco stores and Pret A Manger locations nationwide, with wider distribution planned later this year.
Marketed as a modern soda, poppi combines bold fruit flavours with low sugar and low calorie content, and includes added fibre and real fruit juice. The brand has positioned itself as part of a growing “better-for-you” soft drinks segment, appealing to consumers seeking both flavour and perceived health benefits.
PepsiCo acquired poppi in 2025 for $1.95 billion as part of its strategy to expand its portfolio of contemporary beverages aligned with shifting consumer tastes. The UK launch is being supported by Carlsberg Britvic, PepsiCo’s strategic bottling partner in the market.
Executives from both companies said the launch reflects confidence in the brand’s ability to attract new shoppers and inject fresh energy into the soft drinks category, citing its strong performance and cultural relevance in the US.
Poppi will debut in five flavours: Strawberry Lemon, Orange, Raspberry Rose, Lemon Lime and Wild Berry.
