Minute Maid to discontinue frozen canned juices

Coca-Cola has announced it will discontinue its iconic line of frozen Minute Maid canned juices in the U.S. and Canada, marking a significant shift in the beverage category after nearly 80 years on the market.

The move affects traditional frozen concentrate formats — including orange juice, lemonade, limeade, pink lemonade and raspberry lemonade — which will be phased out through the first quarter of 2026. Remaining inventory will be sold while supplies last, according to company statements.

Once a staple of the freezer aisle and a driver of early orange juice consumption, the frozen cans have seen demand decline sharply as consumers gravitate toward ready-to-drink beverages and alternative formats.

Coca-Cola says the decision reflects a broader strategy to focus on products that better match evolving consumer preferences.

For metal packaging professionals, the exit of this long-running canned product highlights how shifting market trends can directly impact packaging formats that were once considered essential in grocery channels.
