Metpack Special Supplier Focus – Micromec
At Micromec, our guiding principle is to be a reliable engineering partner for our clients. We are headquartered in Assago near Milan, and since 1974 we have been serving the metal packaging industry with a clear mission: to deliver an integrated service encompassing consulting, engineering, and manufacturing for ultra-high-output sheet metal processing systems. As we bring our expertise to Metpack 2026 in Essen, we are proud to share what has made us a reference point for can makers worldwide.
Micromec strives to be more than just a supplier — we aim to bring our standards of excellence into every project, offering our clients sustainable solutions grounded in responsible ethics. All the dies and spare parts we manufacture are produced strictly to customer drawings, and we are particularly recognised for our rigorous management of client drawing codes and revisions, ensuring full traceability, repeatability and consistency across every order.
One of the areas where we truly differentiate ourselves is design support. Our experienced engineering team carefully analyses clients’ requirements and customisation needs, assisting them in defining and refining component and die designs, often through multiple testing phases during production. When drawings are not available, we also offer a reverse engineering service: starting from a physical sample provided by the client, we are able to reconstruct the original design and manufacture the required spare part to exact specifications.
At Micromec, sustainable manufacturing plays an integral role in our success. This is reflected in our reconditioning service of worn components, which entails restoring tooling to its original performance, reducing waste and delivering real cost savings for our clients.
Every component produced undergoes strict quality control in our state-of-the-art metrology laboratory, where temperature and humidity are maintained around the clock, and measurement capabilities extend to the Zeiss UPMC 850 CARAT coordinate measuring machine. To maintain a cuttingedge approach, we consistently reinvest approximately 8% of our annual revenues into new technologies and equipment, including more sustainable production practices.
Our commitment to quality and environmental responsibility is formally recognised through ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2023 certifications, as well as an EcoVadis Gold Medal. We are also proud members of UCISAP and ISTMA, reflecting our deep engagement with the global tooling community.
