Strong results amid uncertainty for Canpack

CANPACK Group, Inc. has reported its financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2026, prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and presented in U.S. dollars.

Q1 2026 Highlights

  • Beverage can body volumes increased 9% year over year, driven primarily by growth in Brazil, the United States, Europe and India, partially offset by lower volumes in the Middle East.
  • Net sales rose 20% compared with the first quarter of 2025, supported by contractual pass-through of higher aluminum LME and premium costs, increased beverage can volumes, favorable foreign exchange effects and higher selling prices.
  • Adjusted EBITDA increased to $134 million from $120 million in the prior-year period. The improvement was driven by higher beverage can volumes, recognition of contract assets, stronger pricing and positive FX impact, partially offset by higher labor costs, weaker results in Glass India related to temporary production disruptions, and incremental transportation costs supporting Colombian operations from Brazil.
  • Capital expenditures increased to $99 million from $57 million a year earlier, reflecting planned investments in capacity expansion projects.
  • Free cash flow declined by $200 million, moving from a $57 million inflow in Q1 2025 to a $143 million outflow in Q1 2026. The decrease was primarily attributable to working capital changes related to limited utilization of factoring facilities and increased capital expenditures, partially offset by higher Adjusted EBITDA.
