New Steelforce America strengthens commercial team

Steelforce America has announced the appointment of Jake Takani as Commercial Director – Packaging, strengthening the company’s commitment to expanding its position in the North American metal packaging market. 

Based in California, Takani brings nearly two decades of experience across the steel, packaging, supply chain, and manufacturing sectors, including leadership roles with Nippon Steel Trading Americas, JFE Shoji America, and Panasonic Corporation. 

In his new role, Takani will lead commercial growth initiatives for Steelforce America’s packaging business, working closely with customers, mill partners, and the company’s global network to deliver strategic sourcing solutions, supply chain optimization, and market intelligence. 

Most recently, Takani served as Manager of Sales & Supply Chain at Nippon Steel Trading Americas, where he managed packaging segment business exceeding 100,000 metric tons and $200 million in annual sales. He also played a key role in expanding operations into Canada and leading strategic initiatives with major steel producers. Prior to that, he spent nearly eight years with JFE Shoji America, managing more than 500,000 metric tons of steel supply and developing long-term customer and supplier relationships across North America.

Takani’s appointment further strengthens Steelforce America’s ability to connect regional market needs with the global reach, inventory network, and sourcing capabilities of Steelforce Packaging.
