In a critical response to raging statewide wildfires, brewing giant Anheuser-Busch has dispatched nearly 130,000 cans of emergency drinking water to Washington state to assist local communities and frontline responders.

The shipment was routed directly to the brewer’s wholesale distribution partner, King Beverage Inc., based in Spokane. Working alongside the American Red Cross, the distributor is managing the logistics to deliver the vital canned supplies to affected residents and local relief organisations.

Commenting on the relief effort, Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross, highlighted the value of the partnership: “The American Red Cross is deeply grateful to Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partner King Beverage Inc. for their generous donation and delivery of safe drinking water to Washington in response to statewide wildfires. We appreciate their partnership and ongoing support of our mission.”

The 130,000 cans were produced and packaged at Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville facility in Georgia. Alongside its sister site in Fort Collins, Colorado, the Cartersville brewery routinely pauses standard beer packaging operations to run dedicated canning cycles for clean, safe drinking water designed for emergency distribution.

The initiative forms part of a long-standing commitment to disaster relief. Anheuser-Busch’s partnership with the American Red Cross dates back to 1906, whilst its formal emergency drinking water programme was established in 1988. Since its inception, the company and its network of distribution partners have delivered over 100 million aluminum cans of water to communities and volunteer fire services across the United States.
