Hydro’s aluminium plant ASI-certified
Hydro’s aluminium extrusion plant has been certified to the ASI Performance and ASI Chain of Custody Standards.
The certification of the plant in Denmark covers the site’s production of aluminium solutions, including extrusion and fabrication activities, as well as surface treatment.
Hydro Extrusion Denmark develops and produces more than 25,000 tons of aluminium profiles annually with two extrusion lines.
The plant also has an in-house fabrication line and offers surface treatment capabilities to its customers, who are located mainly in Denmark and Germany.
“It is great seeing how our hard work during this difficult year has been rewarded. ASI Certification represents a new step in our sustainability agenda, and it supports our customer demands for aluminium products that are sourced and produced responsibly,” says Mette Boye Sørensen, who manages the plant.
The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s (ASI) Performance Standard recognises the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
The Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a chain of custody for CoC material, including ASI Aluminium, which is produced and processed through the value chain into the downstream sectors.
