HUN Wines smash fundraising target

Canned wine company HUN Wines has smashed its fundraising target with almost £600,000 raised.

A total of 474 investors have helped HUN Wines complete their fundraise.

Launched in April 2020, its board of directors include Waitrose CEO James Bailey and former Brewdog CEO and Red Bull UK MD, Andy Shaw.

All of Hun’s wines are vegan, Fairtrade and sourced from the Stellenbosch region in South Africa, with the initial range comprising a pale rosé 2019; a sparkling rosé 2019 and a Sauvignon Blanc 2019.

The initial target was £400,000 but that target was reached on the first day of its public launch.

HUN decided to overfund to £600,000 and they hit their goal on February 2 with £599,443.28 raised.

Co-founder of HUN Wines, Mark Woollard, wrote on LinkedIn: “And on the 7th day… a canned wine business called HUN managed to complete their fundraise. What a strange and amazing world we live in!

“Thanks to the 474 amazing souls who decided to back us and to Team Hun for pulling this off. 2021 we are coming for you in a very big way! Hold my canned wine…”
