An independent brewery in New York has taken the unusual step of listing job ads on the side of its cans after struggling to recruit new employees.

Bolton Landing Brewing Company launched a new beer called Help Wanted last month with a plea on the back of its 16oz cans.

It read: “Fan of our beers, like this juicy New England-style IPA? Got some free time on your hands? It sounds like you should try enjoying these great beers as a member of the Bolton Landing Brewing family!

“Like most businesses this year, we are looking for help in our taproom. We offer competitive pay, room for growth throughout the company, a fun and laid-back work environment, employee outings, and a view that can’t be beat. Email or swing by the taproom to apply.”

According to the New York Post, the brewery has never struggled to hire employees before but received zero applications about its seven full and part-time jobs between May and June.

The ad seems to have done the trick, though, as the brewer has already had at least seven applicants since the ad launched.
