Ball employees joined canned water charity Can’d Aid to help pick up rubbish along the Mississippi River.

The charity posted a picture on social media of the amount that was collected with the help from the aluminium packaging giants.

In a post on Twitter, Can’d Aid said: “Last week, Ball employees joined us to help clean up along the Mississippi River. Over the past three years @BallCorpHQ has helped remove over 8100lbs of trash, keeping our outdoor spaces clean & reducing the amount of waste that ends up in our waterways. Thank you, Ball!”

Recently, Ball Metalpack announced the addition of a new two-piece food can production line at its Milwaukee manufacturing plant in the US.

The new, high-speed two-piece food can production line will support the production of millions of food cans per year and will allow Ball Metalpack to meet growing demand from customers in the food and nutrition industries.

Ball Metalpack will add approximately 50 additional employees to around 120 already working at the Milwaukee plant now, for a total of more than 170 workers.

The company invests nearly $10 million annually with local suppliers for its two Wisconsin plants.
