Ball hosted a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of its newest state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ulyanovsk, Russia.

Regional government officials, partners, and customers joined the company to welcome the fourth facility of its kind in Russia. 

It will join its other aluminium can plants in Argayash, Naro-Fominsk, and Vsevolozhsk.

Ball says there is urgent demand in Russia for more canned beverages, and for the sustainable production of aluminium packaging to accommodate customers’ growing needs.

The first production line is scheduled to open in Spring 2023, and will feature the most advanced technology and techniques for high-speed, aluminum manufacturing production capacity in the world.

Annually, this plant will initially produce over one billion cans, and provide skilled labor employment for 200 individual professionals, in technical production, as well as in, engineering, managerial, training, and quality positions.

This newest plant will bring together the most skilled manufacturing methods and innovation planning—to meet the demands of a fast growing Russian market.
