Novelis breaks ground on aluminium recycling centre
Novelis held a ground-breaking ceremony at the aluminium producer’s new $365million recycling centre in Guthrie, Kentucky.
The new recycling centre will provide jobs for around 140 people in the local area.
Novelis wrote on Twitter: “We held a groundbreaking today in Guthrie, Ky. for our $365M automotive #aluminum #recycling centre.
“The new site will reduce carbon emissions by 1mil+ tons/yr, marking a milestone in our #sustainability journey. Thanks @GovAndyBeshear, @SenRandPaul and many others for joining!”
“This ground-breaking marks a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and supports our automotive customers’ carbon reduction targets as well,” said Tom Boney, executive vice president and president of Novelis North America.
