Silgan to close metal food container plant in New York

Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation will close its plant in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

According to a New York State Department Of Labor Office Of Dislocated Workers Program filing, the plant will be permanently closing on September 2.

There are 65 employees at the Wayne County site who will be affected by the closure.

The reason stated for the closure of the plant was “due to loss of customer base”.
