Following our story earlier this month on leading easy-open-ends producer, Xiamen Baofeng, announcing plans for a new facility in the Hubei province, China, the company has announced a further update.

Baofeng has just passed its first decade of business operation in aluminium easy-open-end manufacturing. After achieving a sales volume of 34.5 billion pieces of ends in year 2021,  Baofeng has rapidly taken a crucial step in the second of its 10-year development plan in 2022, and kicked off the construction of its second large-scale easy-open-end production plant in early June.

This plant is located in Hanchuan City, Hubei Province, an important economically developed area in central China. The design and planning of this new plant is mostly based on the model of the Xiamen plant with the total investment of over RMB 1.2 billion (approximately $180 million), covering an area of ​​265 acres, and the annual production capacity will reach 25 billion ends. By then, the total annual production capacity of the two plants will exceed 60 billion ends.

With the advantages of location, transportation and supply chain support, the Hubei plant will be able to provide better and more efficient supply services to the customers in central, southwest and northwest China as well as other regions, and simultaneously meets the growing ends demand of the expanding can production capacity around these regions.

Xiamen plant also takes this opportunity to fine tune and optimise the product structure and increases the 202CDL and 200CDL production lines. Xiamen plant will continue to ride on its seaport advantages to expand supplies to overseas markets.
