Toyo Ink Holdings wins duo of Index Awards

Toyo Ink SC Holdings Co, the parent company of the Toyo Ink Group of companies, has been selected as a constituent of the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index (JPY) consecutively since December 2018 and the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) consecutively since June 2020.

These indices are composed of companies with exceptional Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance selected from the MSCI Japan IMI Top 700 Index and Top 500 Index, respectively. Both are widely used as important decision criteria by investors around the world who focus on corporate ESG initiatives, and have been adopted by Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund, one of the world’s largest pension funds, as benchmarks for making ESG investments. MSCI indices are developed by New York-based MSCI Inc., a leading provider of critical decision support tools and services for the global investment community.

The Toyo Ink Group introduced its long-term vision in January 2018, the Scientific Innovation Chain 2027 (SIC27) in January 2018, in which the company endeavours to realise a world in which all living beings can live in harmony with the environment, through its business activities. Guided by this vision, the company set out management policies under its SIC-II mid-term plan calling for the creation of “lifestyles and cultures that contribute to a new era.”

To this end, the Group will continuously provide truly-needed value to solve the problems and meet the needs of a changing society, by proactively addressing ESG-related issues and by maintaining open, two-way communication with its stakeholders.
