Relaunched Taft product wins aerosol award

The relaunched Taft Styling Mousse has won the award for ‘Sustainable Development Achievement’ at the 2022 FEA Global Aerosol Awards.

The Schwarzkopf product, packaged in Henkel aerosol cans, was recently relaunched.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Henkel said: “Outstanding #sustainability impact: the relaunched #Taft Styling Mousse won the #FEAGlobalAerosolAward in the category Sustainable Development Achievement for replacing non-biodegradable synthetic film formers with biodegradable potato starch. Congrats to the team! #FEAerosol2022.”

Giving their reasons for the awards, the judging panel said: “Henkel successfully addressed major technical challenges when replacing synthetic film formers in its hair mousse formulations.

“The Award to Henkel emphasises the importance of innovative and sustainable formulation development in the context of our future regulatory and sustainable challenges.”

When the relaunched Taft was revealed by Schwarzkopf, the brand said: “Sustainability lies close to our heart, so we’ve made sure that the metal we use for the hairsprays can be recycled forever.

“We also use more recycled plastic and have developed an innovative solution for black plastic packaging by removing carbon in the process, ensuring our black plastic is fully recyclable.”
