Hindalco Industries Ltd has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) and Chain of Custody V1 (2017) Certification for its rolling operations at the Hirakud FRP (Flat Rolled Products) Plant in Odisha, India. 

This is Hindalco’s second ASI- certified facility after its Mouda aluminium foil plant, which achieved Performance Standard Certification in February 2022.

The 135,000-ton capacity Hirakud plant specialises in thin-gauge tight tolerance flat rolled products including ultra-light gauge foil stock for making aseptic carton packs, can body stock for beverage cans, closure stock for bottle caps, fan blade stock, electronic and panel stock for panel bodies. 

Its products are destined for use in several industries including electrical, consumer durables, transport, and defense sectors. Hirakud is the first and only manufacturer of can body stock in India.
