Molson Coors produces 400,000 cans of water

Molson Coors’ Trenton Brewery produced nearly 400,000 cans of emergency drinking water on Monday.

It will be disrupted nationwide to communities that need it in the event of natural disasters and other emergencies.

The Trenton Brewery is Molson Coors’ sole producer of canned drinking water and has produced more than two million cans since the initiative launched in 2017.

“It’s really just in the spirit of that brewery,” said Michael Nordman, corporate’s senior manager of community affairs. “They’ve been doing this for the last six years now and they have expertise over what’s required in making sure the lines are prepared and ready.”

The packaging line usually produces around 1700 cans of beer per minute, however when it comes to canning water, that number drops to around 1100 cans per minute.

Molson Coors VP and Trenton Plant Manager Gabriela Bozdog said giving back was one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.

“I think that this is very, very important, not only for us as Molson Coors, but also for our employees, because it makes us proud and it makes us contributors to the society,” Bozdog said.

“Giving back to the community is part of the DNA of this brewery. It’s part of who we are.”
