China’s canned food exports grow by 12%
China’s canned food exports grew by 12% in 2022, according to figures released by the China Canned Food Industry association.
The country exported 3.13 million metric tons of canned food and the value of these exports was worth $6.89billion.
This figure represented a 22% rise on the figure for 2021 and the export volume and value were both recorded as record highs.
In figures reported by China Daily, canned food exports to the United States rose by 19% year-on-year, to Russia by 23%, and to Hong Kong by 63%.
There are roughly 46,000 canned food producers across China.
