Food bank to attempt can world record

A food bank in Milton Keynes will attempt to break the world record by lining up 10km of food cans.

MK Food Bank has launched MK Can to mobilise the local community to help smash the Guinness World Record.

The event will take place on World Food Day on October 16 and they will attempt to line up 132,000 food cans at Campbell Park.

A spokesman for MK Food Bank said: “We’re very excited to announce the launch of ‘MK Can’ – MK Food Bank’s attempt to smash the current Guinness World Record for the longest line of cans of food.

“We are mobilising the whole of Milton Keynes to help achieve this on World Food Day, Monday 16th October, and are aiming for an ambitious 10km line (about 130,000 cans) around Campbell Park.”

MK Food Bank will officially launch the event next month, where it will appeal to hundreds of businesses, schools, communities and parish councils to help.
