Brewery holds ‘Cans for Cans’ charity event

A Belfast brewery celebrated the launch of a new range of canned beers with a ‘Cans for Cans’ drive in aid of a homeless charity.

Out of Office Brewery held the event in aid of The Welcome Organisation.

Customers were invited to go along and bring three cans of food in exchange for one can of beer.

Katie McBarron from Out of Office explained: “Expanding our product offering into a range of cans will help us share our beers with an even greater audience, and we’re beginning with three of our most popular varieties.”

Prior to the event in October, the brewery said: “All donations will be given to @welcomeorg who are a Belfast-based charity that help people affected by homelessness. Their services include a drop in centre, street outreach service, food donations, clothing donations, crisis accommodation for women and so much more. Their services also run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

“We intend to hold events like this on an ongoing basis, help support the community and raise awareness of the problems facing many people throughout NI today. Any help is much appreciated.

“Of course we hope you also can come along, enjoy the cans in the taproom and let us know what you think!”
