Metal Supermarkets UK achieves 15 straight years of accreditation

For the fifteenth consecutive year, the IQS UK Standards Audits Division has accredited Metal Supermarkets UK, the leading supplier of small-quantity metals, with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. These accreditations are given for continued exceptional performance in Quality Management and Environmental Management systems.

The fact that Metal Supermarkets has consistently received ISO certifications attests to its outstanding process enhancements and standard-setting efforts, which have centred around providing customers with high-quality service throughout the United Kingdom.

“Every year we earn this accreditation is an honour, and we’re proud of our long track record of achieving these certifications,” said Stephen Schober, President and CEO of Metal Supermarkets. “We are always committed to continually improving our UK operations and maintaining the high standard customers expect from Metal Supermarkets.”

Each Metal Supermarkets UK location must establish a documented Quality Management System that includes all policies and processes to receive ISO certifications. Additionally, each store must make an internal commitment to maintaining employee competence and awareness through regular training and a detailed evaluation of environmental duties.

With more than 2.1 million certificates granted to businesses in over 190 countries, ISO 9001 is the most frequently used Quality Management Systems (QMS) standard globally. It is also the internationally recognised standard for QMS. It is given to companies that increase customer happiness, become more efficient, and regularly produce high-quality goods and services.

Businesses that have incorporated environmentally friendly practices into their operations are acknowledged by ISO 14001. It is given to companies that work hard to cut expenses, cut waste, and increase resource efficiency.

Director of Franchise Development and Operations at Metal Supermarkets UK James Headifen stated, “Our teams work hard to earn the ISO designations each year, and receiving the accreditation for the fifteenth straight year highlights our commitment to serving our customers effectively and safely.”

In 2009, Metal Supermarkets received their first accreditations under ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004. Metal Supermarkets successfully presented its procedures to an impartial external auditor in order to obtain re-accreditation. The auditor verified that the operations were being carried out in accordance with strict guidelines and written rules.
