New Zealand pet food manufacturer Riverland’s Foods Limited is set to open a new state-of-the-art canning facility in Canterbury.

The cutting edge facility will be able to produce around 30 million cans of cat and dog food per year.

The news was first reported by BNN Breaking and says Riverland’s Foods Limited wants to bridge the production gap for pet food brands and make New Zealand a manufacturing hub.

The new facility will cost around NZ$30m and promises to herald a new era for the country’s pet food industry.

More than 95% of the plant’s production has been earmarked for export.

Riverland’s is New Zealand’s newest contract pet food cannery, specialising in wet foods. It’s high speed, high volume facility utilises the latest pet food production techniques, resulting in a modern approach to pet nutrition.
