Hitejinro has recalled more than a million cans of FiLite Fresh due to potentially contaminated products.

Food safety authorities found that poor hygiene in its facility led to a contamination of the products.

The investigation found that a foreign substance, resembling mucus, had been found in the product.

Hitejinro recalled 1.24 million cans, with 1.18 million cans already recalled.

The foreign substance is reportedly not hazardous to health.

Hitejinro are now required to use both detergents and sterilisers in the cleaning process, after an investigation found they had just used detergents to clean their beer injector.

FiLite products are only sold in Korea.
