Aluminum Association congratulates new US trade rep
The Aluminum Association has congratulated Jamieson Greer following his confirmation as US Trade Representative.
President & CEO Charles Johnson said: “The Aluminum Association looks forward to working with Ambassador Greer to help promote a globally competitive U.S. aluminium industry while ensuring a level playing field for American manufacturers.
“The US aluminium industry relies on strong trade enforcement as a key pillar of industry growth and investment.
“We commend President Trump on this outstanding selection and stand ready to work closely with Ambassador Greer and his team to support American workers, businesses and consumers.”
The aluminium industry supports nearly 700,000 total workers and $228 billion in economic output in the United States.
Since 2016, Aluminum Association member companies have announced more than $10 billion in investments for domestic manufacturing operations including new, U.S.-based greenfield facilities for the first time since the 1980s.
These investments will help us to meet growing demand for aluminium, which is used in everything from cans and cars to buildings and electrical infrastructure to tanks and fighter jets.
