Hormel Foods expands canned breakfast food range
Hormel Foods is expanding its Hormel Mary Kitchen line with two new canned skillet meals now rolling out to select retailers across the US.
The brand, long known for its classic Corned Beef Hash, is introducing Chorizo Skillet and Southwest Style Skillet—two ready-to-cook options designed to offer quick, flavourful meals for busy families.
Company officials say the new products reflect growing demand for convenient dishes that can serve as both main courses and versatile ingredients. Each variety features diced potatoes paired with seasoned meats and is designed to be prepared easily in a skillet.
The Chorizo Skillet includes pork seasoned with traditional chorizo spices and provides 14 grams of protein per serving. The Southwest Style Skillet combines beef and pork with peppers and onions, delivering 12 grams of protein per serving and a Tex-Mex-inspired flavour profile.
“The Hormel Mary Kitchen brand has always stood for providing consumers convenient, comforting products that satisfy cravings. The new skillet varieties take that promise even further,” said Brett Ament, brand manager for the Hormel Mary Kitchen brand.
“Families are looking for easy solutions that don’t sacrifice flavour. Like our hash varieties, these products are delicious when fried in a pan and paired with eggs, but they also become the star ingredient in creative dishes or can stretch into leftovers. It’s all about helping people spend less time cooking and more time enjoying meaningful moments together.”
Hormel says the skillet meals are aimed at helping households save time in the kitchen while still enjoying satisfying, home-style meals—especially during the colder months, when comfort food tends to take centre stage.
The new skillet varieties are now available at select grocery retailers across the country.
