VMI raises record €125,145 in Ventoux3 fundraising challenge
VMI has raised a record €125,145 for the Erasmus MC Foundation after 66 employees took part in the Ventoux3 fundraising challenge in southern France.
The metal packaging machinery specialist said the amount was the highest it has raised through a charity event, with employees tackling Mont Ventoux by road, mountain and gravel bike, as well as by running, walking and hiking.
Starting early on 11 September, participants climbed the mountain between one and four times, supported by a VMI team providing logistical assistance and support along the route.
The company said the initiative combined its annual sporting challenge with fundraising for medical research and patient care.
Proceeds from Ventoux3 will support the Erasmus MC Foundation’s research into new and improved treatments for brain cancer, with the aim of improving prospects for patients following diagnosis.
VMI formally presented a cheque for €125,145 to the foundation during an evening event following the challenge.
The company’s contribution was part of a total €584,391 raised by participants in this year’s Ventoux3 event.
