LA Rams and Ball team up for mural

The LA Rams and the Ball Corporation teamed up with a local artist to create a mural with their recycled aluminium cups.

Ball provide sustainable aluminium beverage packaging to the Rams’ $5billion SoFi Stadium in LA, although fans haven’t been able to visit at all in the 2020 NFL season due to coronavirus.

The Rams have come up with a creative way to try and inspire others to recycle just as they are doing.

The Rams and Ball partnered with Los Angeles artist Gustavo Zermeño Jr to create a mural of wide receiver Cooper Kupp using 2,000 recycled aluminium cups.

“He’s an amazing player,” said Zermeño Jr. “I think him being a part of this campaign, just helps raise that awareness level.

“We’re shifting over to a greener era where not just recycling but taking care of our planet has to be a bigger priority moving forward.”

The mural will be featured at future Rams home games, training camps and other events.

The Rams take on the no.1 ranked NFC team the Green Bay Packers on Saturday in the divisional round of the NFL play-offs.

Win that and they will face either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship next weekend.

Super Bowl 55 takes place on February 7 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
