New resealable end for beverage cans launched

Sav-Ty

Sav-Ty Easy to Use Resealable End System has recent launched for the beverage cans market

Sav-Ty will open up wider opportunities for sustainable and resealable beverage cans, enabling them to effectively compete with PET and glass bottles as a pack for multi usage drinking occasions.

Ergonomically designed and easy to use. Just flip up the Sav-Ty tab and twist a quarter turn to open, drink from the can or pour, and simply reseal.

Sav-Ty is pressure resistant and leakproof, meeting international beverage industry standards and demands for all types of drinks. It can be fitted to any of the current beverage can end shells or used on any can size and therefore seamed onto standard beverage cans using existing filling equipment without the need to adjust the filling line.

The current Sav-Ty prototype, with its 2-part injection-moulded plastic design can be clipassembled or moulded into any beverage can end shell, in which an offset cut-out has been punched. The plastic parts are simpler to produce and, at 3 grams, are much lighter than those used in resealable can ends currently on the market, the company says.

Other features include:

Sav-Ty is extremely versatile. The screw cap can be tethered to the anti rotating support. Its integrated soft seal system can also accommodate a wide range of dispensing fitments. These could be reused to reduce the need for single-use plastic.

Sav-Ty is being developed around a suite of patents, based on a novel venting thread and tab opening. Working closely with prominent patent firms, Sav-Ty has protected its intellectual property around the world on multiple levels.

The Sav-Ty Resealable End System opens a realm of possibilities for brand-owners to develop their own sustainable products with both two and three piece steel and aluminium cans.
