CANPACK Group sponsor green film festival

The CANPACK Group, one of the world’s largest packaging producers, announced that it is again sponsoring the international festival of ecological films BNP Paribas Green Film Festival.

The BNP Paribas Green Film Festival is the first and largest environmental film festival in Poland.

This year it sees its fourth edition, which will be held from 15-22 August in Krakow. Awards will be presented in eight film categories and will include a special ‘audience award’, which will be decided following voting on the Green Festival mobile app.

“We are delighted to be working again with the organisers of the Green Film Festival. The positive and intimate atmosphere of the festival helps us take a step back, reflect and debate often complex environmental issues,” says Bartlomiej Wojdylo, Sustainability Deputy Director at CANPACK Group.

During the event, CANPACK will invite participants to create a huge image made of beverage cans – a pixelata.

By this activity the company wants to inspire a discussion around the recycling of cans and its benefits. CANPACK will also provide canned water with the empty cans being collected and placed into specially prepared compactors.

All cans collected, including the pixelated ones, will go to CANPACK’s recycling plant, where they will be recycled into brand new cans in just 60 days.

“We’re delighted that CANPACK has been associated with our festival from the very start. Its sustainable business model makes it an ideal fit with the philosophy of our festival. During the event itself, we particularly appreciate the company’s educational zone,” says Grzegorz Dukielski from the BNP Paribas Green Film Festival.
