Canned tomato giant branch out to spicy flavours
Canned tomato brand Red Gold is rolling out a new brand of products that offer a spicy flavour profile.
Tomato Love products are made with tomatoes grown on local family farms in Indiana that are tossed with chilies and a dash of seasoning.
The company, which has more than 2,100 employees and 15 warehouses throughout the US, also said they went through several rounds of testing to get the final recipes and packaging design right.
“The new Tomato Love brand is tomato perfection with incredible freshness and quality,” said Colt Reichart, director of marketing, omnichannel and consumer relations for Red Gold.
“For four generations, our mission has been to produce the freshest, best-tasting tomato products in the world. We are proud to be family-owned, grown and made.”
Tomato Love canned products come in five varieties: Chili Starter, Mild Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies, Original Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies, Original Diced Tomatoes and 2x More Chilies, and Sriracha Diced Tomatoes and Red Chilies.
All but the sriracha variety are Non-GMO Project verified, gluten-free and vegan.
Tomato Love products are available for around 82¢ per 10-oz can at Kroger, Jewel Osco, HEB, Schnucks, Price Chopper and Walmart stores.
