Gatão Lata wins packaging design award

After debuting at the International Canned Wine Competition in 2021, Gatão was again successful in this year’s edition with the ‘Package Design Award’.

The contest took place in California and the famous can was the only Portuguese brand distinguished in this category.

“Canned wine is a trend that is here to stay and that will still have a lot to talk about. This Gatão format is our latest yet and the results couldn’t be better. Proof of this is this design award that we won for the second time in a row, in addition to the Product of the Year award that was also given to us in 2022. 

“Both the national and international market accepted the Gatão can very well and we couldn’t be more proud and confident in the future. ” said Ana Montenegro, marketing director at JMV – José Maria Vieira.

It is understood that the brand underwent a rebranding in 2019, signed by Atelier Rita Rivotti, who also designed the iconic Gatão can.

The 4th edition of the International Canned Wine Competition took place last July, in California and featured almost 300 wines from twenty countries. Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges was featured as the only Portuguese wine distinguished in this category.
